Is it possible to write songs in different decades and when looking at them from a distance they form a trilogy? So happened with „Solitary Love“, „The Captain Of Her Heart“ and „Twice In A Lifetime“.

It all started at the beginning of this century when social media became a way to communicate and people started to write me and asked questions like: What happened to the woman in „The Captain Of Her Heart“? Is she okay? …or…Is it true that she committed suicide?

I didn‘t like the idea of a bad ending at all. When I wrote the lyrics I didn’t‘ think much about her future, since I was only interested in the moment of transformation. Her decision to end a painful episode. But with this dark option in the room I felt the urge to write a sequel, in which she had a second life, a happy ending. That‘s the song „Twice In A Lifetime“.

Her decision to stop waiting for the Captain was tough, though it was necessary to make room for the new. But how did she get there? There must have been a lot of pain and frustration before. Times of feeling trapped and being unable to act. These times are drawn in „Solitary Love“. 

Looking at these three songs as a trilogy not only makes sense, it‘s also beautiful.
